Remedies for Pets

Our pets have emotions too, and are subject to the same stressors and emotional challenges that can affect us. Yes, the original Rescue Remedy works equally well as an all-natural stress reliever for your pet!

"We must strive to learn love of others, beginning perhaps with one individual or even an animal, and let this love develop and extend over a wider and wider range, until its opposing defects will automatically disappear." ~ Dr. Bach - Heal Thyself

Dog Harry

Times to use Rescue Remedy for your pet:

  • Visits to the vet
  • Adapting to new surroundings
  • Fear of loud noises
  • Excessive barking or hissing.
  • Separation anxiety
  • Shock, trauma or mistreatment
  • Obsessive cleansing
  • Any emergency situation

The product (Rescue Remedy) worked very well in helping to move our cat with more ease. She moved to another city with my daughter, and it was a very stressful and traumatic experience for the cat. My daughter said the drops really, really helped because of the calming, relaxing affect they had on the cat during the car ride, and for the next week or so, until the cat got accustomed to the new surroundings. ~ Ida Renzi

All-natural Bach Flower Remedies can help your pet cope with everyday stressful situations, such as trips to the vet or the temporary absence of owners, and to help overcome a variety of behavioural problems.

Our pets are an important part of our families, and are the ones that usually greet us with much delight and enthusiasm. So when something seems to be wrong it is a great worry because they cannot tell us how they feel.

Once they have been checked out by the vet to make sure there is nothing physically wrong, we can turn to the remedies to help with their emotions. General rules to thumb before selecting a remedy we need to ask ourselves:

Dog Alice
  • Are they a social or solitary species?
  • Are they a predator or prey animal?
  • Are they territorial, home ranging or nomadic?
  • What behaviour is innate to this breed?
  • Are they allowed to act out their normal behaviour?
  • Are they being managed properly?
  • Are they in fear or distress?
  • Are they in discomfort?
  • Has the situation at home changed, new pet or family member or different work schedule?

It is probably best to try one remedy at a time to see if it works or not. If a particular remedy is not needed it will cause no harm.

Dosage

The dosage is two drops from each selected remedy, or four drops of Rescue Remedy. As they are preserved in brandy always dilute before use. For any concerns always seek the advice from a vet.

For longer-term use a treatment bottle can be made up. To this add two drops of each individual remedy and four of Rescue Remedy (up to seven max) to a 30ml bottle of spring water. A dose is four drops from this bottle, and you should give at least four doses a day. Use until symptoms improve.

There are many ways to give the remedies to animals, so pick the one that works for you.

  • Drip the remedies onto pads, paws, nose or ears so they will be absorbed through the skin or licked off.
  • You can put the remedies into food, onto pet treats or in their water.
  • If pets share water, the remedies won’t have affects on other pets if they don’t need them.
  • There is no worry of over-dosing.

Please note:
The remedies will not change the inherent temperament of a particular breed or animal, but will help bring them into balance.  The remedies do not treat any medical conditions directly.  If you are in any doubt about the health of your pet, seek the advice of a vet.  (They are preserved in brandy however, so you should always dilute them before use. Seek veterinary advice if your animal is allergic to alcohol or is taking a medicine which is contraindicated with alcohol).

Note on alcohol content:
As the remedies are preserved in 27% grape alcohol they can be diluted (2 drops of individual remedies or 4 of Rescue Remedy) in water to minimize the alcohol content or it can be taken topically.

Testimonials:

I am just writing to you to you to let you know what I

have experienced with using Bach Flowers for our dogs.

Our dog has been pretty excitable in the past and I have been using one of your remedy mixtures and we have noticed at how much calmer he has become.  He loves taking the mixture right out of the palm of my hand.  As soon as he sees the bottle he comes over to me wagging his tail.  He has had to have surgery recently and the mixture that you have given us for him for that has helped him with the healing.  He is much easier to handle and more controllable yet none of these have changed his personality.  One of our dogs used to suffer from separation anxiety and after giving her some Bach Flowers we have not noticed her acting the way she used to at all anymore.

Our boys Rufus and Brutus are rescued and come with their own little bundle of joy and 'issues' Brutus in particular does not enjoy outings in crowded areas and especially riding on BC Ferries, which we ride quiet often. Our friends suggested Rescue Remedy. We purchased the bottle and completely fall in love with the product. Rescue Remedy does not 'tranquilized' Brutus like Gravol does, Rescue Remedy takes away the 'edge' After using the product on Brutus, he listens and focus better in stressful situations and definitely calmer but still very alert and playful. We have not encounter any side effect and he accepts the squirts into the mouth with a smile. Definitely a life saver because now we can take him to more places and BC Ferries ride are more pleasant.
